Monthly Meeting Minutes

November 21, 2006 Hank N3HV and Sjaak W4RIS got to the meeting late because they had been working on the KF4DXY repeater. And due to some miscommunications no meeting took place. Below are some updates to ongoing projects. KF4DXY Repeater: The repeater is back up and running. It is now controlled by the Embedded IRLP controller. IRLP and EchoLink are up and running. The node numbers are: IRLP node 4999, EchoLink node 305206. After Thanksgiving Sjaak [W4RIS] moved the repeater to its final location and he replaced some of the coaxes in the repeater cabinet. Currently the repeater's amplifier is switched off and IRLP and EchoLink are disconnected. The status of the repeater and the progress of the IRLP setup can be followed on the KF4DXY homepage. Pigeon Key DX-Pedition: The Pigeon-Key DX-Pedition was a great success. I finally had some time to post the Pigeon Key photos that were made by Rudy [KF4OM], Paul [N2PK] and Hank [N3HV]. Contest Season: The contest season has started and there are some great contests coming. Sjaak, W4RIS will be operating from T6 during some of these contests. All help is appreciated! ARRL 10 Meter: December 9/10. Supposedly we are in a sunspot low and the bands are dead but how do you know if there is nobody on the air? Florida is a very good location for 10 Meter and we can put a good effort on the books for this contest. ARRL international DX: February 17/18 CW, March 3 /4 Phone. A team consisting of Fred K9VV, Lisa W4LIS, Anna W4ANA and Sjaak W4RIS will be going to the Bahamas for this contest. If you want to join please contact Fred K9VV or Sjaak W4RIS. Holiday Party 2007 !!!!: The holidays are almost here! The BRARA / K4FAU holiday party is scheduled for December 5. Keep you calendar clear. Sinterklaas will have to come early this year so you don't have to miss the party. BAR-Net (Boca Amateur Radio-Net): Every Wednesday at 7:00 pm we have a net on the KC4GH repeater (147.255 MHz PL 123.0 Hz) together with the Boca Raton Amateur Radio Association and Boca Raton Fire Rescue Services Community Emergency Response Team. Please check into the net for the latest K4FAU, BRARA and CERT info. We need volunteers to run the net! For the upcoming nets we have: November 30 - (need volunteer) December 6 - Lew [K4LEW] December 13 - Sjaak [W4RIS] Our next meeting will be: December 19 Unofficial report by Sjaak W4RIS.
